Enter The Humper.
I'd often take Mitzi for walks, mostly in the evening time.  She enjoyed that a lot.  I don't think, generally, this dog liked me a whole lot because of my weird behavioral tendencies.  Still, we enjoyed our walks.
We had a particular route we'd take.  We'd leave the Emmerson Street house, take a left at Limerick, then a right at Lockhart, and walk all the way down to York Street and take a right traveling the length of that road to John Street.  We'd get to Vaughn Harvey and walk toward Mountain Road then take a right at the new Vito's restaurant, down further Mountain Road where we'd turn right at Emmerson Street and go home.
When we got home, she was always excited, and did these racing laps around the coffee table in the living room.  This is a picture of her in mid-stride.
You see the very of-the-time brown plush brown carpet here, along with that old coffee table which had an accompanying side table that we still have here on Belmont right here in our bedroom.  Marbles uses it to sit and look out the window.  It's a piece of nostalgia that I'll never get rid of because of its history.
It's also Christmas season in this picture, and you can see a gumdrop Christmas tree that I think Mom made; it was a styrofoam cone with gumdrops attached to it.  There's also a ceramic Santa candy cane holder that was passed onto me from my sister.
Speaking of, that very loudly colorful chair, proudly missing a volume knob, was a product of Stief Furniture, a place where Cindy worked at some point back then, and I think Mom got a deal through her to get that and the couch.  Colorful as they were, those were incredibly comfortable to sit on.
You'll see that furniture a lot in the pictures to come, too.
